Australians are amongst those who get affected by skin cancer the most, a recent report has revealed. It is thus that people in the nation are these days being urged by experts to get themselves checked for the same.
Kelly-named woman is one of the people, who do not prefer visiting a doctor to get themselves diagnosed or tested for a disease. But recently, she also went to the President of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia Dr. Richard Johns and CEO of Melanoma Patients Australia Will Kerhoff to have a word on the illness after the requests.
Since, it is being warned highly that the sun burns the skin and any one can have the same. Experts are saying that one should go for a diagnosis before their moles or freckles, if any, grow and become dangerous cancers.
They say that the rates of Melanoma have doubled over last two decades and in case diagnoses fail in future also, the rates may upsurge further. This is the reason why doctors are being given training on the use of a 'dermatoscope', which can magnify moles on the skin.
"We're trying to train doctors to be proficient is the use of a dermatoscope, but I'd like to see every doctor in Australia have a dermatoscope next to their stethoscope?, affirmed Dr. Johns.
